About This Website

This website is an exorcism of sorts. My intent here is to use the blog format to unload various rants that go on in my head far too often. It gets tiresome having the same argument running over and over again. Most of the stuff I post here my spouse doesn’t care about, and my cats have a low threshold for putting up with my long-winded blustering, too. So for now, I’ll be writing out my pretentious, self-absorbed thoughts on various topics only of concern to me in this space, and hopefully avoid boring others out in the world with my nonsense.

Readers beware: blog entries may employ hyperbole and sarcasm. You have been warned.

I’m a 5’10” carbon-based primate with a background in cultural anthropology. In order to subsist in a highly inequitable, hierarchical, patriarchal, capitalist political economy, I work as an instructional designer in higher education.

How I Made This Site

As mentioned in my first blog post, trashb.at was created using Jekyll and Markdown for general coding and composition. I wish I could take credit for the awesome vintage look of the site, but I’m using the “jekyll-theme-console” theme made by somebody calling themself “b2a3e8.” File editing is done in BBEdit (I’m a Mac guy, and old), and all images are processed using HyperDither and Affinity Photo.
